How to Build Kitchen Cabinets
This will be a step by step series with full detailed plans available for purchase so you can design and build your own kitchen cabinets and save THOUSANDS on remodeling your own kitchen or building your own cabinetry in your home.
Where do I get my cabinet parts (Slides, Hinges, Hardware, Etc?
I order the bulk of my cabinet hardware from CabinetParts.com. They have good prices and a great selection.
(This is an affiliate link so I do get a small kickback if you use these links to make a purchase. It’s a great way to support The Recreational Woodworker and doesn’t cost you any extra.)
Part 1 - Building a Sink Base
This will be the longest and most detailed video in this series. I’ve added time stamps so you can easily reference the parts you need. Part 2 though will be paired down to show just the specifics of the other cabinet styles.
Part 2 - Building a Corner Cabinet
In most Kitchen remodels You can’t really move the location of the sink, oven, or corners. Knowing this we can build a standard size sink back, and a standard size corner cabinet, then fill in the blanks with our other boxes which are easier to customize. This corner cabinet is built around a Lazy Susan but if you don’t want a Lazy Susan you can leave it open and still have a corner cabinet that you can get stuff out of. Unlike a blind corner cabinet where Tupperware goes to die.
Part 3 - Installing a Lazy Susan
Corner cabinets always have some wasted space. I really don’t like blind corner cabinets because it’s where pots and pans are lost to Narnia. This is why I build my corner cabinets as I do.
There’s still the issue of getting to everything. You can leave it as just a big cavity, add a shelf or do what I did which is install a nice Lazy Susan. Here is a Direct Link to the Lazy Susan Hardware I used in designing the plans.
